experimentation workshop 7 - Print making

We were asked to provide a picture or photograph which could be transferred to a print screen which we could then experiment with printing on different surfaces.

Print screen

I manipulated one of my original prints by increasing the contrast to remove the grey areas

after a short demonstration..............

we were let loose

I began by doing a straight print onto paper, followed this up with a 'ghost print' (by running a cloth over the remaining ink in the screen) and then made a second print over the top in a different colour to create a layered effect. Finally I tried printing on to different surfaces such as wood and metal.

These were the results.

Print is a great secondary use for photography and can be used to create objects and products such as clothing etc.
I believe that I may have surprised Kim with this one, I'm not sure that she expected me to be as positive about it.
